Friday, March 16, 2018: San Jose, Costa Rica

"Tap into your sense of adventure during our incredible eight-night journey, including an overnight in San Josse and seven nights aboard the first-class Safari Voyager.  From Costa Rica's rugged Pacific coast, traverse the Isthmus of Panama and reel in the unparalleled beauty of the Panamanian islands. Along the way, discover ancient rainforests and fascinating endemic species with a knowledgeable guide. Explore nature preserves with lush vegetation, where you can spot scampering iguanas and listen to the shrill call of howler monkeys. Transit the remarkable locks of the Panama Canal, steeped in history and lore, and linger just a bit longer on powdery sands. The possibilities are endless.
Onboard, savour exquisitely prepared meals and relish the expertise, exclusivity and personalized service on UnCruise's small ship adventure. ..."

We chose to arrive a day early in San Jose, and spent a pleasant day enjoying the gardens of the Interncontinental Hotel. At breakfast, we enjoyed watching a starling-type bird snatch packets of sugar from an unoccupied patio table. The meals were excellent and it was nice to have a few hours to ourselves. In the afternoon, we visited the Multiplaza Shopping Center - a mix of mid-range and designer shops. We met the rest of our tour group at a buffet dinner.
